Anyone having problems with the lug nuts on their 2004 F150. Mine are becoming stuck to the point of not coming off. There is no possible way to break them free with a breaker bar and pipe, 4 way lug wrench or the wrench with the truck. Anyone have a solution. The only thing I heard is torue them with a torque stick and rotate the tires every other oil change.
I use an impact wrench to REMOVE them, and a torque wrench to put them back on. NEVER use an impact wrench to put them on. If I have the truck in the shop, say to replace tires, the first thing I do when I get home is to back off the lugs and then torque them to spec. I try to rotate my tires every oil change or two. I do this myself.
I have a 2004 with the same problem. It is impossible to break the lug nuts without a impack wrench. If I was to have a flat on the road there is now way I could change the tire.
I had that problem when I got my wheels, It took me for ever to break them loose, On one I spent a good minute on it with a impact. I dont no about the new lugs that came with the wheels Ill post how they are when I rotate my tires or somthing.
Some swear by it, some swear at it, but if you are having such trouble and just having the threads clean and dry isn't letting them release, you may try a light coating of thread anti-seize.
