strange cold brew

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">Hi everyone
I have a 99 F150 5.4l 2wheel drive with a crazy problem. When I'm driving and only when the A/C is on my electrical system goes haywire. It feel like a total loss of power rpm gauge goes crazy, theft light starts flashing and gives a 16 code, sometimes speedodemeter acts up, will through the truck out of overdrive and cruise control, everything will still be on but it acts like it has an electrical short. Have brought it to dealeship and numerous mechanical shops to no avail.
Only happens when A/C is turned on can drive truck all week with it off and no problem. sometimes happens right away sometimes takes a while, and problem is getting worse. have changed iginition switch, alternator, tps sensor and still problem persits. any clue?

I would check the wiring at the A/C clutch. Take it to the dealer and get them to check the diode in the clutch wiring to make sure it's good, and not burnt open.

Okay guys ready for this one. Today it did it without the A/C running, did it bad enough that it killed my truck on a curve. Almost wrecked the thing, changed out the ABS speed sensor like I found out in other post took it for a ride and it did it again. Thing is nothing else goes crazy lights don't blink, radio still works, everything is constant. Why would my theft light start blinking and give me a 16 code? Should I go ahead and change out the other sensors on the trans? Started checking grounds so for no problem.

I don't think you are going to have a sensor problem. I believe it's going to be a wiring problem. I recall that some of the trucks and expeditions had wiring harness problems on top of the engine, and problems with a harness that runs down behind the engine. I can't remember if it rubs, or gets against the exhaust. I would crawl up in there and really give it a good look with a flash light, pulling on the harness. Look between the firewall and the engine/tranny, especially near the exhaust.
