I have never owned a decent double flaring tool , until now. I've had a couple that were bought at swap-meets or flea markets over the years that were cheap junk. I checked with Snap-on and Mac Tools before and could not afford thiers.Yesterday I bought one at the local ORielly's auto parts and it works great. And no, I don't work for OReilly's or the tool company . I just wanted to say to anybody that might need one that the 19.99 price was the best 20 bucks I,ve spent lately.
I just bought the pre-flared lines at O'reilly when I was doing mine. They have them from 8" to 5' lengths with the nuts already on them. Maybe I am lazy.....
I've been 'sorta' looking for a flaring tool, as I hope to be getting to re-plumbing the whole brake system as soon as I get the frame cleaned up, and painted... (which I thought would be done by now.... guess ya have to actually work on em, and not just look at em.....)
Anyway... can you tell me more about the one you bought? We've got O'Reily's here...
I have owned a few of the china made junk flaring tools. The last one I bought was a Rigid from Home Depot, USA made. It is a joy to work with and make great double flairs.

Brian,
I try to do it that way too, but it never fails the piece of line I'm trying to fabricate is always either 1" too long or too short......Murphy's Law I guess
Preflared lines are great if the lengths are close to what you need . However from time to time you will encounter a special size nut like GM uses where lines attach to the master cylinder or proportioning valve . Then you have to either use an original line the came with the cylinder or valve or cut and reflare the line . The tool I bought is number W80670. I think all OReillys will have the same parts. I will not have to use a line that is too long i the future and reroute it to "take up the slack".
