How bad?

Just purchased a rebuilt steering gearbox, haven't changed one in a long time, how bad will it be? Any tricks, to make easier?

I lift the front end off the ground pull the drivers side tire because it is easier to get to the bolts from there. The only problem I have seen is mis-placement of the pitman arm causeing the truck to turn really well one direction and for crap the other so pay a little attention there. Good luck I am off to get a trasmission back in and listen to the Broncos, lol.

Before you put the pitman arm on the gearbox, turn the gearbox full lock to full lock. then center it. That will get the splines in the right spot. Get a pitman arm puller.

Put it in today was rough but not as bad as i figured. Now handles nice can't wait to drive it to work at speed.It will be weird not being all over the road.Now all i need is plugs, wires, and dist. cap and rotor.

I just got the buggy back on the road today after a full engine rebuild but no matter what you doing to them it's like a new truck when you get them back on ther road isn't it.
