460 to a 351

I have a 460 with a 5 speed in my 87 350. Will a 351 bolt up to the tranny? Also do you think a rebuilt 351 would have the same or more power then a tired 460 with 200,000 miles on it.

Well It may but a 351 is a lot smaller motor in a 1 ton truck it depends

I think a 351m will, but they are such a pooch stock you'd be ahead rebuilding the 460. As for mpg, you will get no satisfactory number with either engine. A good running 460 will do almost as well as a strained 351. It's a 1 ton truck...born to suck gas.

If it's a 351w it will not bolt up.

a really really tired 460 is about equal to a good running 351 so with a good 460 you have a really powerfull truck, mileage isnt much of a improvment prob 3-4mog better maybe, a 460 is a really stongly built engine and will last you many miles

You'll have to chage too much and spend more money doing that swap than just rebuilding what you have.

FWIW, do a compression test. It may still be in good shape and just need a tune up - like sensors, fuel pumps, catalytic converters if they're stopping up, etc.
