Cruise Control Problem

Lately I have been having an intermittent problem with the cruise control. About every tenth time or so I use the coast function, it increases in speed rather than reduces in speed. I have looked directly at the button to see if I was pushing on the wrong one and I was indeed on the correct button to reduce speed. The last time it happened I was trying to slow down when I saw the police man coming and it started speeding up. Fortunately the radar must have been off! Anyone else having this problem?

I haven't had that problem, but mine occassionally has a mind of its own. When I try and "set" the speed after it was set at a different speed (was set at 70, but now want to set it at 55), it will try and "resume" to the previous setting. Even turning it off and back on and setting will still try and resume instead of set. No rhyme or reason to it, and it's very intermittent (done it 3 or 4 times over the last year or so).

Sounds like it might be a switch problem, or the wiring going to the switch.

I'm wondering of your clockspring isn't going bad.
