Unhappy Need Power Steering Help

I drive a 2000 F-250 cc 4x4 6 speed 7.3l. I was recently backing out of a parking spot when I lost all power steering. Never heard a sound from the pump, fluid is clean and full. Pump is still working, pulled discharge hose and got plenty of fluid. I acts like its fighting me when I try to turn the wheel. I can still feel it in my brake pedal when I try to turn, so I'm hopeing its just a check valve or something of that nature. Also when it first happened the cap was off when I opened the hood. I don't know a great deal about hydro-boost, and would be greatfull for any help.

All I can offer for help is to make sure the steering shaft is clear and nothing is caught up in it and to do the same for the pitman arm and the rest of the steering linkage.

If the steering gets easier at speed, I would think it was a pressure issue, maybe a blockage in the lines.

I checked all the linkage and everything is clear. It really doesn't get any easier with speed. Still feels like its fighting me almost like its trying to keep the wheels strait. Thanks for the reply.
