i borrowed a timing light and i will follow these instrucions but, how much can i advance my timing ? to get a some horses .. some peaple say 12.5 BTDC * will be just fine... and does the truck has the timing mark ? or what do i need to look for to see the timing marks ? like on the pic ?
Get some fine sandpaper and buff the balancer on the lines and numbers. Put a mark on 10 DEG. BTDC mark. Your spout connector is a little grey platic rectangle pc. over drivers fender like in your other post. You can run more timing on better gas, but thats up to you. Burn rubber.
Haha, just having a good day, figured I would spread the joy
Your advice is good. Jurgen, you gotta clean the area around the harmonic balancer so you can see the timing marks, then mark 10* with chalk (or something that can be seen when the engine is turning and the timing light is flickering. Good luck buddy.
