Newbie question on diesel
I've decided I needed a truck for a pending cross country move. I've found a 1992 F250 Extended Cab that I like and is in my price range. It's a 4WD. I'm curious about the motor however and can find no references to it. It's listed as a 5.8 Litre diesel with a Banks turbo. I've been searching the web and can find no reference to a 5.8 Litre diesel, only gas. Any info would be appreciatied. Truck has about 150,000 miles on it.
In addition, the load I'm going to haul plus myself, son and gear will be about 2600 lbs. Would a 5.8 Litre, assuming they make such an animal, be sufficient or should I look for a larger motor?
THanks for the help
Brett
If it's a '92 it will have the 7.3 IDI (non turbo from the factory) and they've added a Banks turbo kit to it.
They probably got the diesel mixed up with the 351W somehow.
2600 lbs should be cake for a F250 diesel.
