I'm looking for a site or a good book that will help me decode the VIN on my 66.

6 - 1966
T- Metuchen New Jersey
07 -Hardtop
C - 289 2v
127363 - Consecutive build number. (27,363rd car off the assembly line for that Model year) The 1 is nothing more than a prefix.

Check the very back on the top of the block for a VIN# stamping.

They numbers matched the engines tocars back then,.

I have 2 matching numbers matching Mustangs

Thanks Dennis. The engine is a 85-up 302. Nice to know it had a V8 from the factory though. What's a good book on the codes, trim levels and yr to yr changes? I read one yrs ago on the Camaro (back when I drove GM).
