finding serial numbers
on my truck the 89f150 where would i find the serial number for the motor I know its on the block somewhere but where? Any help would be greatly appreciatted.I need to find it so i can find out if it has a 1 piece or 2 piece rear main seal. Thanks again

There is a part number on the bottom rear pad above the starter but no serial number. Ford quit putting matching serial numbers on truck and engine back in the 1960's or before.
There should be some engine numbers on the rocker cover also.
