Hey, everyone,
I have a 2003 crewcab dually - 2wd. Yesterday I had the engine light come on. My scanner wouldn't read the code, but the local Autozone let me use theirs and I extracted P2285 out of it - something about injector pressure?
Can anybody elaborate?
I erased the code for now and hope it was just a fluke.
Thanks
P2285 is for the injector control pressure sensor. Most likely it's leaking and shorted. Pretty common for the '03's. Bad news is that it's under the turbo on the left rear of the motor and best way to change it is from underneath.
I have the same code on my '03 F350 6.0. The check eng light comes and goes every couple of days without me clearing it out. My truck idles and runs smooth, but I know that I still need to change out the ICP Sensor. I see that you say its easier to get to it from underneath....but can I do this in the driveway? Or does it need to be on a lift??
Any more insight from someone who has changed it out themselves??
Still looking to see if anyone has changed out the ICP themselves on the '03 6.0's. How do I get to it? I know where it is, but just can't see it by looking under the hood. Does the turbo need to come off?
Some help would be great on this.....
also, are sensors covered under the 100k powertrain, or am I at the mercy of full price/labor repairs if I can't do it myself?
Dropped her off at Coastal Ford today. They said they could get to it either late this afternoon or Monday. No call yet, so it looks like Monday should be the day. They agree that the P2285 code should be a faulty ICP Sensor, but we'll see if they are a dealer or stealer!
