front wheel locks up?
I have a 1995 F250 4x4. Sometimes when I hit a bump (chuckhole) the front end locks up and pulls the truck to the left. It will release after a few seconds but it sure gets your attention. I just had the front calipers replaced and the mechanic told me he was 99.999% sure that replacing them would take care of the problem. It did not. I use the truck mainly to push snow and to haul cars ( have a trailer for this). Any help would be appreciated

There's only a few things that could cause a front wheel to lock, a binding brake system due to broken part or excessively worn wheel bearings, or a very loose driveshaft that is binding on the ball joints. The front hub would have to be locked for this to occur of course, but if they are auto hubs it's still possible. The problem should be pretty obvious I would think, the whole axle assembly should be dismantled until the problem is found. I can't imagine a competent mechanic allowing a vehicle to leave his shop until he was 100% sure this type problem is fixed. This vehicle is a safety hazard on the road.
