I need help identyfing an engine i removed from my 55 f 100.
casting numbers on side of block are c4ae. It has no cross bolt mains or other significant markings, other than just 2 hole motor mount holes. I believe this is pre 1965. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Yup. You've got a 64-65 block there. There should be a casting date code stamped on a boss just below where the oil filter mounts. It will be three or four digits (a number, a letter, and one or two numbers). It will tell you exactly when your engine was cast.
64 or 65 390ci, ive seen c4ae stamped on the heads of
a 390 from either of those years, it is a bb,fair
amount of guts, probaly safe to say its a 390, unless
its a 352.....either way you have a bb.352 are better
