2001 f 550 vacuum pump problem
had to replace the vaccum pump because it was bad. But when i put a new one on and installed it i'm now having belt wear issues. It's because the pulley needs to be on the pump just a little more. as it sits one ridge is hanging off the pulley. and it keeps cutting the belt. I used a bole and washer to suck the pulley on. it seems it needs to be just a little further on. am i doing somehting wrong???

Ford has a special tool to remove and install this. When I did mine I paid the ford Mechanic $10.00 and had him take off the old pully and put it on the new pump(from NAPA). Without the special removal tool you can bend the pully getting it off. Install tool they use sets the pully at the correct position.
