So i get home after driving for 6 hrs and right before i get home i slam it hard a couple of times. I get out of the truck and smell coolant so i look at my wheel well and see coolant down the shock, so after it sits a while i check the degas bottle and its about a 1/4 inch below the min line, so im not sure if it was overfilled or my hg's blowed out again. I have ARP's so i didnt think just on a tune that it could blow again?
Any ideas of what it could be, if it is heads should i get it fire ringed and aftermarket gasket this time,i plan on doing alot of stuff to my truck but if its going to keep puking im just going to stop modyfying
the tech that did my headstud install straight edged the heads and said everything was a-ok
I just rode it down the street hard up to 70 and all there was on the degas was a drop
so i dont know
I know this may sound simple, but when I first purchased my truck, and after checking all of the fluids, it would leak from the expansion tank cap after pulling my toy hauler.
What I did was to remove the cap and cleaned it with hot water only, making sure that I cleaned both sides of the gasket, and also cleaned the threads of the tank and no more leaks since.
I believe that when coolant is allowed to seap pass the thread of the cap, and dries around the gasket and thread, there remains a film of coolant that will prohibit a good seal.
