Question drift

66 ford f-250 drives real good until I get on a unperfect road, I knoww where right? but when I hit some ripples, railroad tracks, man hole covers, it will want to travel into another lane. It has a good front end and shocks, does a little better with a load on, Oh ya, its a style side,
Thanks Bob

how's your steering stabilizer shock? if thats bad it could cause it to pull.

Put the truck up on jack stands, and look under at the steering while you have someone turn the steering wheel. Watch the tierod ends and bushings, anywhere that the parts move. See if there is any slop in anything, inclueding the steering box.

Smile steering play!!

Boy does that bring back memories.. My first truck was a 66 f-100 and that sucker had about 45 degrees of play from tight to tight on the steering. I kinda got used to it, Finally my dad helped me and if i remember right we found the problem to be on the gear box itself. there is an adjustment on top of the box for the worm gear you crack the nut loose and tighten the screw down a little not too tight though or you will cause it to wear out. also check the condition of the rubber absorber on the steering shaft coming down to the box, mine was shot. and of course tie rod linkages... that should cover it except for maybe the king pins and bushings.. good luck
