Parking Light Sockets

I ordered a set of dual element parking light sockets from John's FunHundreds who said they were a direct fit to the light housing. After punching out the original sockets, I inserted the new one from John's and they fell right through the housing. Does anyone know where I can get a set of dual element sockets that will fit properly?

When I did mine, I just went to NAPA, and bought some off the shelf "universal" ones. I got the ones with a big flange around then and after I knocked out the old ones. I put the new ones up to the hole and welded them on in about 4 places around the edges. Since it's never seen, it works fine, and I got new sockets. You might not want to do that since you paid for a "direct fit", but???? That's what I did

I did pretty much the same thing on my 49. I found some universal dual element sockets down at the local parts house and fabbed them in.

Apparently the sockets are all a little different. I bought 2 sets of the replacement sockets from Sacramento Ford. They fit the lights on my '50 perfectly. They nearly fell through the hole on my '49. I ended up putting them in place and tacking them in 2 places with my mig welder. Tacked them on the back side, so you never see it.

I had trouble with fit, they stuck out too far and wouldnt fit under lens.
I ended up opening socket hole bigger, tack-welded new sockets to a big shim washer which was then screwed to the socket mount area. This created a counter sunk (recessed) type fit, cleared the lens inside and can be removed by unscrewing for any needs down the road.
