IAC temperature sensitive?

My explorer idles low and at times stalls on a cold morning. The dealer said that the IAC was bad. I questioned this since the explorer runs just fine during the day and only has a problem on cold mornings. They said that changing the IAC would fix the problem. Well just got it back yesterday and when I started the explorer up this morning...same problem! I didn't think that the IAC was temperature sensitive. Can I expect a discount from the dealer for them to fix my problem or is it on my own dime?

The IAC should respond to temperature when the IAT (idle air temp) sensor sends it's reading. The IAC responds to IAT and MAF inputs. Maybe could clean them both before replacing them.
