Routing Heater Hoses

Routing Heater Hoses
Took off both heater hoses at the same time. Can someone look & tell me where the hose coming out of the water pump hooks up to. Is it the side closest to the fender or furtherest from the fender.
Does it really make a difference?

The water pump hose on mine goes the the tube furthest from the fender and my heater works fine. On these trucks it really doesn't matter much since there are no restrictors, checkvalves, control valves, or any other stupid crap to complicate the plumbing.
One of my heater hoses blew out on the way home from work today, so I got to take both of mine off too.

I guess it would help to know what year the truck is. They quit using heater control valves in the mid 80's. If it doesn't have one it doesn't matter. If it does have a control valve it matters.
