I have recently purchased a 30" Raptor TT. All is well except that this freakn thing squeeks so much..... any idea how or where to grease this thing to quiet it down. Moving it around in the driveway seems to be when I notice it the most. It is a triple axle so I am sure that all the twisting trying to manuver it has something to do with it.
If the squeaking seems excessive to you, you might want to check your wheel bearings. You didn't say if your tt was new or used, but especially if it's used, give your bearings, hubs and everything on your axles a good close inspection. Triple axle trailers are notoriously hard on bearings and hubs (and tires) because there's alot more twist against everything in tight turns. In the interest of longevity of tires and axle components, try to avoid really tight turns whenever you can. Enjoy your new tt.
I am the second owner however you would'nt know it by looking at it. The rear tires seem to have the expected wear you mentioned and I am certain I will be replacing earlier than I had hoped. No big deal.... I sell tires for a living so I got the hookup.... I've been thinking I should inspect the bearings simply out of curiousity and will likely do that this week.
It really screams when positioning it in the driveway.. so I am sure it's the axle's voicing their unhappiness.
The only "quiet" trailer axle that I know about are torsion bar axles. Just about every trailer I know of (with more than one axle) makes a great deal of noise. Unfortunately, just all part of the game.
