I have an 85 F250 that I bought. It is has just straight pipes, no Cat no muffler with nice 12" Chrome tips. It does sound tuff but it is LOUD. I am going to put a muffler on it here next month. I figure I owe the rest of the homeowners that since they have to look at my eye sore in the subdivsion. Plus I am just waiting for a ticket. I would put something on there, flowmasters or glasspacks. At least you would keep yourself somewhat legal.
i put headers and dual exhaust with two dynomax utraflow welded mufflers on my 86 150 with a 300. its pretty loud as in make your neighbors wet the bed loud when you leave for work in the morning plus i had custom pipes put on it from a minake. i had all of that done for less than 360 bucks the pipes cost 160 and the mufflers i got from a advanced auto for 70 some odd bucks a piece. and the headers i got for less that 120 on ebay. its worth the money and if you cant afford it then just wait and save. i drove my truck the same way yours is now for about a year before i broke down a coffed up the cash for it. but it really is worth it
I got a 82 f150 with a 302.
No cats, it's got true duals with 2 cherrybombs comeing out under the bumper.
Aint got no power but everybody says it sounds good. I like it, that is the most important thing to me.
Some of my spanish nabors had a party one Friday night and kept me awake until about 2am. When I left for work at 4:30 am I backed out of my driveway and right up to their bedroom window and rever it up until their light came on, then looked when they opened the front door and waved at them.
That Sat.night they started the party again so I went out and reved up the truck and backed into their driveway and the music ran down.
No more problem out of then.
