68 f-100 Specs.

I'm new to the forum. I checked in at the announcements site and thonght I'd come right down here to try to pick a few brains.

I just bought a nice 68 f-100, 360 stick. I'm a pretty fair mechanic but I haven't owned a Ford in a long time. I've got a wiring detail and a dealer parts CD but I can't seem to find a site to get the basic tune up specs and part numbers. You know, plugs, air cleaner, oil filter, oil viscosity ect. I seem to remember in the 60's that multi weight oils were not reccommended. Can I use them in this truck and if so at what weight?

I also remember something about the effect of unleaded gas on the valves. Can I burn unleaded?

Thanks in avvance for your advice.

10W30 for the oil
Motorcraft F1 filter
I use paper aftermarket air filter
Autolite 42 plugs
I converted to a Pertronix and stopped using points (love it)

You need hardened seats for the valves but drive it until you have to do something. You can't buy anything but unleaded gas and there are a lot of older engines running on it.

You can get the info that you requested from your favorite local parts house. IMHO

Thanks for the info.

I've used the Mallory points replacement in the past with great results on a Torino.

How do you think it compares with petronix?
