Mission Impossible

The diff needs a rebuild in order to drive the vehicle again. Needs new carrier, spiders and ring and pinion... or a whole new rear end

Here is the problem:

Dana 60 16 spline! And its 4.88:1 Could someone point me in the right direction in where to look for parts? Google isn't workin out too well for us.

56 f250... 223 and 4 speed. Minnesota

Any rear Dana 60 16-spline with a 4.56 and up carrier will fit

Someone told me that the 1967-1972 F-250 rear ends are a perfect match/bolt-on for 53-56 F-250s.. I'm actually looking for one to get rid of my 4.88 gear ratio and hopefully find one with 3.79.
Good luck!

Pretty much any Dana 60 ring and pinion will fit. You just need an empty 3.54-4.10 case to reuse your 16 spline spider gears. The only thing that is different is the axles from a later rear end.

Its a 4.88 diff, no 4.10s or lower.

Needs new carrier, spiders and ring and pinion... or a whole new rear end
