It isn't a real hard fabrication. The only difficult part is fabricating the hinge. Inner fenders, outer quarters and hood get bolted together (sometimes welded). Rear section of the quarter panels has to stay with the truck so it doesn't rub against the door/firewall when going up. Take a look at an F-650 hood, you'll get the idea on what needs to stay and what goes up.
Only other thing is extending the wiring for the lights and a ground strap or two, plus it's good to put in disconnects at this point in case you ever want to remove the hood/fender unit.
