Steering Column Diagram
I was wondering if anyone has a somewhat detailed diagram of the steering column assembly. The person who owned the truck before had the tumbler go out on the ignition and he took off... well.. everything he needed to to bypass using the key to start it. He just pushed on a lever in the cloumn to start it and pulled out to shut it off. I've got the new tumbler, just need to put this puzzle together and can't figure out how to do it.

I'd like to hear this answer as well, since I've been doing it the way described for the moment. At least until I got a puller etc. Is it possible the gear the tumbler uses to push the linkage is broken?

Just got back from North Country Ford with a steering column diagram. The parts guy even knew what was wrong when I told him what happened. He said that the actuator pin (I think that's what he said, he rambled off the name and part number so quick it was kind of hard to hear,) snapped and he sees it all the time. He took the part out and showed me and that was it. If you go there they can print you off a diagram of it, kinda hard to read to me, but still managable. I would scan it and post it, but I don't have a scanner.
Long story short, I'm buying a used column because I'm not sure what else is wrong with it. $75 from a local boneyard.
