Question Rear Brake Pads

I had a rear brake pad seperate from the backing plate friday. It then fell out of the place where it is supposed to be and was flopping around on the bottom of the rotor. Luckly i was in a parking lot. I left it there went and got new pads and relaced the pads in the parking lot. Now my question is this. Is there supposed to be a spring clip that goes on top of the pads in the back? I wonder because if so, it was missing. I plan on doing the rest of the pads tuesday but I was wondering about the clip because I see in some of the write ups there is like a horseshoe type sping clip that goes on top of the pads. thanks jeff

Mine has some little spring clips for the front but not on the rear. I don't think your missing anything.

Just finished the hell of re-doing my brakes.

The fronts have little flat metal clips (2 per pad, they clip to the caliper bracket) that hold the pads in position PLUS the horseshoe wire spring clip (2 per wheel) that puts tension on the pads and holds them against the rotor. The wire spring clips also make dropping the pads in while keeping the clips in the same county a real joy to attempt.... NOT!

The rear has the same type flat metal clips (but they are NOT the SAME clips) but does NOT have the horseshoe wire spring clips.

Hope this helps and good luck!
