AOD Yoke Question
So, I've got the AOD and the 351C into the '56 and I'm looking at the old FMX yoke on the forward end of the drive shaft and comparing it to the Ford Racing T5/AOD yoke I bought and wondering how much the yoke should engage on the end of the trans output shaft. Does anyone know? The old yoke that was for the FMX has about 2 1/2 or maybe 3 inches of dirt on it where it stuck out of the trans past the rear seal. The new set up is about the same, but is that OK? It's just that $300 or $400 for a new or rebuilt drive shaft could be used somewhere else if I don't have to get it lengthened.
