Ranger rear end question
My sons 99 ranger 4wd has 4:10 rear differential with a 7.5 ring gear with limited slip differential. It is in pretty rough shape and I think his cheapest way out is to replace it with a junk yard unit. My question is I am having trouble finding one with a 7.5 ring gear but have located one with an 8.8 ring gear. Does any one know if they are interchangeable? I work on heavy trucks so I am not really familliar with this thanks.
