LT's or shorties??

I have a 95 F150 5.0L... In my world of Camaro's, long tubes are the way to go.. I was just wondering which is the better choice for these trucks..

I found a couple sets thru summit for $150! Dynomax and Flowtech. DAMN bargan! LT's for the camaro run at LEAST $380! $1200 for a GOOD set of Kooks or QTP.

THanx...

Well from what i hear long tubes are the way to go they give you more low end power or low end torque ONE of the two but i cant remeber which one and well i really dont know the difference thats what i hear though

YEah, LT's will give you the better power gain, not by TOO much, tho..

But I was wondering about clearance problems or any other problems people have w/ running LT's on these trucks.. I don't think ground clearance will be an issue like it is on my Camaro... THat car rides about 1.5" off the ground.. AND I have LT's on that! The crappiest ones I could get at the time.. I didn't do my HW and I bought SLP's.. = YUCK!!

I would go with the smog legal short tubes personally. I think the differences between the 2 are really ignorable unless you are racing on the track. Both are an improvement over log manifolds. The shorties will bolt up the the factory exhaust system.

^ yeah, I'm gonna retain the emissions stuff on this.. I deleted so much from my Camaro that car is NOT street legal, or emissions legal for that matter.

Actually, in theroy, when the cats are mounted closer to the manifold they work better, heat up better and quicker.. . SO the shorties may be the way to go.. I'm not going to be doing any racing, I'm just a TQ FIEND!!!
