I know these have been mentioned in the past, but I finally talked to a guy here in town who made his own tow dolly. He uses it behind his service truck when he goes to jobs away from home. granted he is pulling it with the chevy version of the f550 so he has alot of wieght in front of it, but he said it pulls great. No problems what so ever.
They do have what you are talking about in most RV Parts Books. Not sure of the cost. It is what you described it as. A small tow behind dolly/trailer with a hitch for either the king pin or regular tow hitch. That is all I know about them. Dont remember what page it is on but they took up a whole page for advertisment.
Yep thats the thing I was talking about. Try one of the online RV Catolog books to get the part number. A& M RV up here you can type in the "Blue" part number and it will give the price of the item. I'm curious how it back up?
Can't seem to find it in the A& M RV catalog. The video on the manufacturers website shows it backing up, looks like it works well. I guess it would be classified as triple towing in state of florida.
Oct. Trailer Life Mag. just had an article on this. It fits into your hitch receiver and does not articulate. Seems hard on the tires in tight areas. Said the fiver towed well though...
The Hitch Buddy people were very reserved and nicer in their response than I would have been (before laughing my *** off in front of the guy if it were in person):
11. My 2002 Jeep Liberty 4x4 is equipped for towing and I’d like to acquire a gooseneck/fifth wheel fiberglass trailer or a similar non-fiberglass one. Which Tow Buddy would work for me?
A. First, your vehicle must have the Class IV or Class V hitch receiver manufactured for that particular model. Then Tow Buddy would work for your situation.
You can put a class V hitch on almost any vehicle that can fit a class III,. May need some modification, but they'll fit. Since you probably could fit a class V on a Liberty, does that mean that it'll work?
