alternator belt
hey guys im trying to help my sister n law and she needs her alternator changed but how do i get the belt loose. thanks

there is a tensioner on your left side...you install a ratchet..or bar in the hole(inch drive i believe)....and then it turn it and it will pull the tensioner to one side...which will loosen the belt....slip the belt off the tensioner and release....work on your alternator...and when you are done. pull the tensioner back and then place belt back on.

hey guy thanks so much. ive never had a ford and was looking for a bolt head to swing. ur exact on the place and the 1/2 inch ratchet. u guys with ur quick response make me want to go buy a ford. thanks so much.
