Electrical Issues?

Hey guys...
Yesterday, I went to start my 04 Lariat, and nothing. Made some weird ticking noise then nothing. I went and looked at my lights outside, and they were dimely lit. I went back in the truck, and noticed the headlight switch was off. This puzzled me.
I got a boost, and it's been fine.
But...
I'm driving home goign about 100KM/H (roughly 70 mph) with the cruise on. And for a while now, when coasting down hill with cruise control, the truck felt like it was sputtering... like it wanted to accelerate, but then stopped suddenly.
Today, at 100 KM/H, I went to accelerate somewhat hard, and I saw the spedo needle drop about 20-30 km/h in the matter of a second... Then it resumed to work properly.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have an extended warranty that covers absolutely everything, but I want to know they are looking in the right place.

Thank you all in advance.

Chris

Couple ideas: Have you checked your battery voltage?
Also may want to have the alternator checked.
