351 windsor

just a quick question how can i tell if it is a 351w what do i need to look at what would be differnt from the 302 or a 351m/c how can i tell im not a good judge of size so need something like the them. is here or the cap would be here anything would help

I asked the same question I guess the 351m has eight valve cover bolts and the 351w only has six.

but is the 302 not 6 valve cover bolts to? how do i tell the differnce between them?

Look at where the timing cover bolts to the block rith where the water enters the block. the deck on a 351W will be 1.5 or so higher than a 302.

hemieater and franklin ty very much i can now go to sleep i was worried that i did not get a 351 but maybe a 302 with a 4bb carb my mind is at rest now

Also the block should be stamped with C9OE-B but there are a couple variations depending on the year it was made. I don't remember exactly how the number works out and I can't find my book!
