I have a 03 F350 4X4 regular cab with V10. The truck sits 4" lower in the front than the rear measuring from a level surface to the top of the wheel well. I have been looking at all of the leveling kits out there. Any advice on which one to go with would be great. I have snowplow on it also. Has anyone made there own spring hangers like they sell on ebay? I really don't want the front to be higher than the rear. Would it be best to go with 2.5, 3, or 3.5 leveling kit? Thanks
Is the plow on when you made that measurment, 4" is a lot low in the front so the plow mount must be weighting it down. Most people refer to the SD's as being 2" to 2.5" low in the front. Most true leveling kits only lift the front about that same amount, 2". I am a Skyjacker fan myself!
If you want more lift in the front you can get more, but if you take the plow off it may be high in the front then? I am from VA and we don't us plows much so maybe one of these yankee can be more specific on how that plow will effect the front levels.
I have the Tuff Country leveling kit. Mine is an F250 (shorter blocks in rear) so I had to add a leaf to the rear to make mine totally level. So with your being an F350 if you have the 4 inch blocks in the rear yours should level out with this kit installed up front.
I put a 3" Donahoe leveling kit on my 2003 F250 SD 6.0 CC SB and the F350 blocks in back. Mine is about 1/2" low in the front, about where I want it. The DH leveling kit is top grade stuff. I think it would give you what you want. I have the diesel and you have the plow might be equal weight up front? Maybe some one knows the actual lbs.
I put the fab-tek levling kit on, 3.5 inches in the front with the little block in the rear (same as your 1 ton block) and it sits perfectly level. It is just the hanger lift, retains stock ride. I'm putting a 6 inch lift on if you are intested in my old one. Also if you have snow-plow prep a hanger lift retains your stock springs/ride quality.
yes the plow mount ws on the truck when I measured but it did not drop the front when I installed it. Obviously the front will drop when the snowplow itself is on and lifted up. That is not a concern. I want the truck level without the plow on it. I checked the spring code which is TB. The truck does not have a plow prep package. I talked with a local alignment and suspension shop and his suggestion was that they would put a 1" spacer under my front leaf springs between the axle and spring. He said that a 1" spacer will lift it more than 1". I don't see how it would. He was also trying to sell me timbrens. I know they will increase the load capacity but will not lift it. He was not much help at all. Does any one know what the spring code means? Is there a heavier spring that could be put in? I like the ride at this time which is why I have been looking at hanger kits. Thanks Scott
