I'm guilty of inflating my tires to the max it says on the tire. I was running 80 psi on my 19 F-250. After reading some stuff on a different thread a week ago. I checked and the door said 40-42. I dropped it to that. What a difference. One of things you always see is, they stress how impotent tire pressure is for good MPG. I figured, harder tire less resistance. I am getting better mpg in my 91 5.0 F-250 (14) than I am in my 04 F-150 (11.5) . I'm going to put my stock tires back on for a tank or 2.

Gulfcoast, what rear end do you have? I know that 3.31s where available in the v6 trucks. If you got higher than 3.55s that may be your reason.

I have the 3.55 rear end.
Maybe it will get better when I get a few more miles on it. Dang sure can't get much worse. How ever my old 94 never got any better. I could always depend on about 14 to 15.
