Need some suggestions. Have a 2000 F-150 Triton 4.6L V-8 w/ 121,000 miles. I have ticking at lower passenger side area of engine. Also the truck shutters at 70 mph. I think it's the engine because I let off the gas and it's a smooth ride. Only when I hit the gas at that speed does it shake. The front-end is new.
My vacuum test showed steady 20 Hg- no fluctuation, which I understand to be a healthy engine. All sensors test good ( no codes ). Oil is new and at proper level. Fuel filter, IAC valve, and O2 sensors all new. Radiator recently flushed. Please tell me it's something reletively simple. Any thoughts ? Thanks.

wow...you have let it go that long....i have had my truck for about 3 months now and i am ordering headers ASAP...
aren't you afraid of it warping the heads?
as well as robbing fuel mileage and HP?

I can't afford to fix it. If Im going through all that trouble to replace the gaskets and studs, I want to get headers for it. No sense re-using 10-year old, rusted, possibly cracked stock manifolds.
Fuel mileage and HP? Heh...Im running 33" tires with a 4.6L. Can't get much worse than that.
