How about the cast in numbers on the side of the case?
Not to mention the C-6 is way bigger then the C-4.
C-6 pan is 17 bolts and C-4/C-5 is 11 bolts.
Door code is a good way to tell. If your truck is a 1984 Bronco II, it could have a C-5, if your truck is an earlier 302 it could have a C-4, if your truck is a F-250 351w it could have a C-6. Might even have a AOD!
Thanks for the feed back...I confirmed it was a C4 :-( But gave it a service yesterday....all I need to do is the cooling system and grease all the suspension.....is therre any particular type of grease required for the thise parts requiring grease.
