pretty much a disaster
i took it to a guy's shop that has his own little thing with a couple of guys that i regularly stop up at, they are diesel gurus
the powerstroke guy of the shop drove in from wherever he lives and he just took off the intake and checked the turbo wheel, which was nice and tight
he then cleaned the EGR and he rerouted the hose to exit by the framerail under my drivers seat instead of back into the intake like ford designed it, he plugged the open hole in the intake by tapping the hole and putting a pipe plug in it; he also happened to crack this white screwing the pipe plug into it but fixed it with a plastic epoxy like material
now my truck lets out a steady small stream of white smoke from under the truck where he put that tube and he said it will occasionally drip oil but its fine
however, my truck is still blowing white smoke just like before but now ive got the stupid tube issue to deal with plus a $120 bill for 2 hours work and materials and im lost what to do . . . im going to call the guy tomorow and try to work something out that isnt ripping me off and im probably not going back for work there
does anyone have any suggestions or any ideas why my truck is blowing white smoke upon acceleration from time to time
thanks

How cold is it where you are at? Lots of white smoke points to glow plugs and/or relay. There is a thread dedicated to that. Here:

Look here for what he did for you http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/ccv1.html
this write up shows a trap that you can build with hardware store parts to catch and condensing oil vapor and stop the drip.

No offence to the people on the list, but some people just need to stay out from under the hood. Thier talents are simply stronger in other areas, and IMO they have the potential to break the dipstick handle just by checking the oil.
And I really mean this in the most polite way possible.
And that's where I have a good job, working for those people. They gladly pay me to keep thier hands clean and I in turn give them a vehicle that they can depend on to get them where they need to go.

as long as it was explained to the customer that, "we are going to try this first, it may not cure your smoke on accel, but if it doesn't then you have a mod that brings the engine back closer to its original design" then I am fine . If that was not explained then this guy may just be shotgunning the problem.

Yes, communication BEFOREHAND is the key to a successful job and the difference between a satisified customer and someone who is now pissed at you.
Sometimes at work I feel that I don't get anything done all day but an oil change and the rest of the time is spent on the phone.
