Crank Trigger

Does anyone know of, or know wher ei can find information on companies that make crank trigger ignition kits for the 400.

I am supercharging my 400, using an old B&M 142 blower i found for a cleveland, and htink i am going to have to run an DIS system with a crank trigger.

Ill be buying the spacer plates to make the intake fit right from TMI sometime in the future, but i do not want to buy them until i know 110% i am going to be able to make this setup work.

It was on a cleveland, and running well before i got it, using an electromotive DIS HPX system.

Can i just setup the ignition like it was on the cleveland, with the crank trigger plate and sensor, or will i need to make a new custom triggering plate?

Also, anyone know if a 142 blower might restrict the engine at higher rpm, my max rpm is 4600.

Thanks

There should be no difference between a Cleveland and a 400, where the distributor and the front of the motor are concerned.

Where does the crank trigger plate and sensor mount?

The 400 will be taller and you will need a longer belt to drive the blower.

The crank trigger plate should bolt behind the pullies , on the front of the harmonic balancer, and the sensor should mount somewhere lower on the timing cover. I need to get and machine a new plate, the guys running it on the cleveland spot welded the plate to the back of thier crank pulley because they messed up the center hole, and the bolt holes when they drilled them out.

Ill be taking the new plate , my supercharger pulley, and my crank pulley down to a machine shop just down the road, and have him layout and machine everything exact so when i bolt it all on, everything is at TCD.

The belt for they were using on the cleveland is a short belt, but atleast i have a starting point of the size that i will need, i know with the taller deck height, the belt will end up being needing to be a little bit bigger....

Danlee, do you know of anyone who makes a distributor plug, that will still drive the oil pump, or is a cutoff distributor shaft going to be my best choice?

The distributor plug should be the same as a 351W/351C/351M/400/429/460. You should be able to get one from Summit or Jegs.

Your 351C parts should all fit.
