Tray removal question

I've got a 2005 F150 XL and would like to mount my Prodigy brake controller in the storage tray that is under the ashtray/cupholder. I need to remove the tray to run the harness through. My question is has anyone removed this and how do you do it. It looks like it is not screwed in but I'm not sure. Appreciate any input. Thanks

You can yank it out with your bare hands. You may have to start by prying a little with a screw driver, but then it yanks right out. Thats where I mounted my MP3 Player.
