C6ME = 1966 Mercury engine

DIF = Dearborn Ironworks Foundury

5F17 = the date code. June 17, 1965

352 = a number cast on ALMOST all FE's blocks.

thanks for the info,but i am planning to make the 360 into a 390. being that it is a mercury engine should i keep it a 360

That casting # C6ME could be a 360, 390 or a 410. Have you measured the stroke?? If it is a 410 then by all means keep it together. Those can bring a pretty penny. If it is either of the other 2 do what you need to it. Measure the stroke and we will tell you what it most likely is. The stroke lengths are 3.5 (360), 3.784 (390), & 3.984 (410&428). Good luck
