Last night the wife made "Taco Bake" it is one of my favorite meals that she makes, although it is likely very bad for me.
last night's meal was made with an expired kit, and although I could taste a bit of staleness in it, it was still delicious. I don't think the store sells the kit anymore, so I am guessing that this was likely the last time that we will have it, although the kit isn't needed in order to recreate it, it just makes things quicker and easier.

We quit using taco kits some time ago-- when we found out that they were just chilli powder and cumin and salt we decided to make our own from now on. Then just buy homemade soft taco shells, and toppings. (Although we do make a trip every so often to "the spice merchant" in Wichita"). Fresh roasted chillis from the green house, when in season, is a plus too :-) I will have to make you a pouch of taco seasoning next time I make a batch.

yeah, that's what we decided, and we had one kit which was enough for one or two people, but there were 4 of us. my wife picked up the extra ingredients to make a few extras.
Last night Isabelle made bacon, and had it ready for us when we got home for BLTs. Seems like bacon is inconsistent. last night's package was delicious, but I have had some in the past that was not much more flavor than cardboard. It's weird.
