I would love to bullet proof the motor, (and buy that im guessing you mean fire ring hg, apr bolts, machining the heads to fit the fire ring). But i can't imagine what that costs, and time wise i don't know if i can be that long without a truck.
But I do love this truck and if i could make it bullet proof id make it last forever.
You might post a location and see if anyone has a dealership with a known set of great techs within a reasonable distance of you. Your Ford Warranty should still be covering this (if your oasis comes back clean). Even if you have to make the appointment and then overnight to it for a one time fix it might be worth the effort. Just a thought. rc
The other factor to consider is that the 6.0 can be turned into a very, very bullet proof motor in an already very stout truck if that need arises, which is something else to consider.
I think you are blowing smoke. I don't see anyway in this world that you can make this motor bullet proof. But, thats just my opinion!!

Tommyl, a recent search of your posts indicates you have way too many issues with your 7.3 to be comming up here offering "opinions" on an engine you know nothing about. Your post offers the original poster absolutly zero help with his issue.
im located next near fargo ND, sorry i can't seem to figure out how to put it in so its there every time i post
If you look at the upper right corner of your posts below join date it shows your location as MN. As far as a signature at the bottom of all your posts, that will not show up until you have at least 26 posts IIRC.

and if you dont think the 6L can be bullet proof, i'll meet up with you next spring after Matt from Spartan has finished my "bullet proof" motor. Most of the plans are already pencilled in, and it's just a matter of locating/fabbing the pieces and having the spare time to do it...
... oh yeah, and money
i will hitch up to your old 7.3 superduty and tow it down the quarter mile so you can see what a 12 second run would feel like in your truck
easy boys be gentle. He has probably never had the privilage to own one of these beasts, I know I complained about some problems on my truck but it happens on all vehicles, you win some and you lose some. I have been very lucky on my vehicles that i have owned, and this truck just has little issues and I don't know enough about the truck to analize the problems yet. But I don't think after the 6.0 I don't think I could go back to a 7.3.......
I would also like to thank everyone on FTE for taking the time to help me figure things out, with a little help from matt and some of his extremly nice hardware that ill have to start adding to the truck, I think I will have a truck that will last me past the loan date for once in my life.
I can't wait for the tunes matt, let me see how long ford analizes the truck this time and as soon as she gets back ill be putting it on
Now about some decals from sparten.............
