relearning manual trans...

...haven't had one in many years...sure, like riding a bike, it comes back to you, but I have trouble remembering to downshift/push in the clutch when coming to a stop (I forget it's not an automatic). Problem is compounded because I only drive the manual trans a few times a week & mostly an auto trans. Any suggestions?

Yes, Where your seatbelt!!!!!!! J/k You'll be surprised how fast it will come back to you. Your lucky it isn't the other way around. The car stops very suddenly, when you think the brake pedal is the clutch. Not that I have ever done that.

Just keep driving it.

When I was in college I had a pair of 1978 Dodge pickups. One was a 2wd with an automatic, the other was a 4wd with a 4-speed. I usually drove the 2wd but switched back and forth pretty often. They drove just about the same, wasn't hard to forget which one I was in, especially at night--don't know how many times I either forgot to clutch, or tried to clutch and remembered I was in the 2wd about the time I nailed the brake pedal with both feet.

Drive more. Use it as a daily driver for a week or two.

Just takes a little time, you'll be fine. I allways get manual trannies, the only automatic we have now is the jeep, the wife says we need one auto in the driveway for those lazy days.

When I was first learning to drive I thought the chlutch was the same as the brake..... On a very steep hill..... That was when I first found out what sea sick on dry labnd meant. Of course the letter series weren't nearly as bad as the number series as it relates to that,.
