I am looking to remove my 4x4 parts such as trans, t-case and axle assm. on my 99 expy to make room for longer travel suspension for a Pre-Runner like setup.
My only worry is that the upper and lower control arms mounting tabs or etc. will not have the same mounting points and linkage. Any info would be helpfull. I have pics of the completed front and rear glass work if interested.
I would check if you can make a nice pre runner kit using the current arms and spindles you have. Sometimes aftermaket torsion bars are available. As far as wheel travel, first find out how much travel the ball joints can take,(now that the front hubs, diffy, and drive shaft are gone). If they can handle alot, then begin working on the arms and shocks. With the front arms that far apart, it allows some flexability with geometry angles. With all that room between the arms, it would be cool if you can put some nice coil-overs thru the arms and lose the torsion bars alltogether.
