I have a 97 F-150 the last few times I started it up of a morning I have noticed what seemed to be a miss, but as I drove it it went away. This morning on the way to work the check engine light come on.(I have not checked the code yet) the oil light came on and the pressure gauge went to H and the it started running rough. Yes there is oil in it. Thanks for Your help! George
Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you may have a bad plug wire, and with the dew type moisture in the mornings, it could be arcing causing a misfire. Or, if it is a 5.4L, then it may have a failing coil.
Did the engine make any abnormal noises when the oil light came on? It could just be a bad sending unit.
What engine and trans does the truck have?
Thanks LX, I know that things can go bad, but the wires and plugs only have 30k on them, they are Bosch wire and plugs. I will check them anyway to eliminate them. The truck is a97 F150 4X4 extended cab 153 K on it, 4.6 I do not know which tranny it is, Iam lookin.
While I am asking for help, My 97 F150 cruise control has stop working. It worked great until I took it in for the recall on the cruise. They just put a fusable link in and it quit working, just have not taken the time to take it back to the dealer, (Totaly against my religion )
