I saw an 08 F-150 with a 5.4, at my local dealership today and when they started it up for me it sounded way better than the 07's, sounded more like the mustang gt's. Also I heard from my friend who works there and drove one about 35 miles. He said he felt a big power difference between the 07, and 08. He also said that when he floored it, he burned out a little before he let off, something I was not able to do in the my sisters 06 F-150. So is there any power train changes to the 08 f-150?
agreed.
The difference in "feel" may be due to any number of things, tires, grip, air temperatures, crew cab vs regular cab, solar radiation, or possibly, a 4.6 motor and a 5.4
I just bought a 08 with the 5.4 and your right they are louder. If you look at the muffler on the 08s they are about 1/3rd the size of the 07s and older. As far as HP they are the same.
Its nice to see that they are finally getting rid of the water heater sized muffler. I like my v8 powered vehicles to actually sound like they've got a pair!
Yeah i agree well there all using stainless steel exhaust systems now i notice the 2006 i took for a test drive sounded pretty good for stock it wasnt super loud but a good tone
I have a couple of questions on the Product changes, under Functional Changes. .... (1) TPMS came standard on my 07 XL, so how is this worthy of a mention? (2) What does Cross-Border States refer to? I live in Delaware, so does this relate to California emissions for Delaware, or what?
As of 9-1-07 every vehicle sold in the USA has to have TPMS as standard equipment.
And I think the "cross border states" refers to vehicles being sold to people that live in Cali emission states at dealers in the bordering states.

Your close..... Penn is a "California Emissions" state. Meaning they conform to the Cal's emission standard. And since you border Penn, you may and probably will get a truck that meets Cal/Penn emissions standards.
Florida, unfortunately, is looking at adopting the Cal emissions standard. Why? I have no clue. We don't have inspection stations. And the last county to require emissions testing, Palm Beach, dropped the requirement 8 years or so go...
