I was hoping someone out there could tell me what the best brake pads for my 2006 Ford F150 are? I tow a lot and have worn my brakes out quick. Also, how much should a good brake job with quality pads cost me and should I use one of the local dealers or go elsewhere?
IMO you can get a good job somewhere other than at the dealer and most likely save some dough.
If you are just replacing pads most anyone can do that and as far as turning the rotors I would consider just replacing them if they need resurfacing.
I would agree with gpead. If this is not a warranty issue, get a quote from a reputable shop (or two). I also would agree with replacing the rotors if they are modulating or have deep grooves.
