Fuel Preasure

I went and checked my fuel preasure today cause I have noticed abnormaly high egts so I thought since doing the shim on the fpr that maybe it was just to high now. Well the test was wired the needle bounced back and forth from 65 to about 78 psi it never stayed in one place for a second. it was just back and forth the hole time. Almost like it was doing it with the stroke of the engine. I know that these are manual pumps and that it should do it some but that is a lot. Is that normal for the needle to move so much? and is that a good psi to be at?

Yep, normal. The california emmision truck have damper that slows the pulsing down a bit. Looks like a flying saucer. You could use a liquid filled gage to slow it down to but I don;t think it's necessary.
